Law enforcement agencies have made a key breakthrough in the October 18 shooting incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff, arresting a 22-year-old engineering graduate in Madhya Pradesh's Indore and taking the total number of arrests in the case to 11.
The arrested man, Pranjal Thakran, is a resident of Haryana's Sonipat district. He was apprehended in Indore's Pardesipura area in a joint operation by the Mumbai Crime Branch and the local Indore Crime Branch.
Thakran had arrived in Indore five days earlier, claiming he was seeking medical treatment for his paralysed brother.
Logistical support role under scrutiny
Investigating agencies suspect Thakran played a vital operational role, providing logistical support, managing communication channels and helping coordinate resources for the shooters involved in the Juhu attack.
Preliminary findings suggest he was in direct touch with key facilitators linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal network.
Sources indicate that seven of the 11 people arrested so far trace their origins to Haryana's Sonipat, pointing to a concentrated syndicate cluster supplying weapons, surveillance data and tactical back-end support for high-target operations.
Two firearms seized from Surat hideout
The Indore arrest comes just twenty-four hours after the Mumbai Crime Branch raided a hideout in Gujarat's Surat, recovering two firearms along with ten live cartridges.
Investigators believe these weapons are tied to the procurement chain deployed for the Mumbai assault. The seized arms and live rounds have been sent for forensic and ballistic evaluation to confirm whether they match empty shell casings collected from the Juhu crime scene.
Police are also interrogating another accused, Jatin, who allegedly oversaw the transport and distribution of weapons across state lines.
Escape routes tracked through live news
During cross-examinations, investigators found that the fleeing assailants kept updating their escape routes by monitoring real-time news broadcasts and receiving operational inputs from overseas handlers through encrypted channels.
Security heightened for Mumbai film figures
Evidence indicates the syndicate had also conducted preliminary reconnaissance around the residences of other prominent film personalities in Bandra. Security cover for key Mumbai figures remains heightened while inter-state teams continue raids across Haryana, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
Tiger Shroff escaped unhurt in the October 18 Juhu attack, though two people, including his driver, were injured.
